About Waypoint
Modern maritime voyage planning for serious boaters who want more than a chart viewer and less friction than legacy navigation software.
Our Mission
Waypoint was created to bring a modern voyage-planning workflow to mariners who need real charts, route controls, weather context, and exports without getting buried in dated bridge-software UX.
Our goal is to combine free official NOAA charts, serious route planning, conditions-aware decision making, and active voyage awareness in one tool that works across web and mobile.
Features
Offline Maps
Download charts and map data for low-connectivity waters so your route workflow does not disappear when the signal does.
Route Planning
Build routes with Great Circle and Rhumb Line calculations, waypoint editing, ETA, and trip logic designed for real passages.
Weather + Tides in Context
Review route conditions where they matter - weather at ETA, tide-aware planning, and reports you can share before departure.
Active Voyage Awareness
Track position underway with route progress, ETA, and cross-track awareness when the trip is no longer theoretical.
Privacy & Security
Your privacy and data security are important to us. Waypoint is designed with privacy in mind:
- All navigation data is stored locally on your device
- Core planning and voyage workflows work without requiring cloud storage
- Cloud-connected features are optional and should be clearly user-driven
- We don't collect or sell your personal information
- You have full control over your route and waypoint data
- You can export or delete your data at any time

Technology
Waypoint is built to combine a modern product experience with the data sources and controls mariners actually care about:
- Web and mobile surfaces for planning and underway access
- Free official NOAA charts with additional maritime overlays
- Offline-capable local data workflows for routes and downloaded charts
- Route calculations, weather, tides, and export systems tuned for maritime use
- Professional features that can expand with the operator, not overwhelm them on day one
Important Note
Waypoint is an aid to navigation for voyage planning and situational awareness. It is not a certified ECDIS and should not be used as the primary navigation system aboard SOLAS-regulated vessels.
